Tom Williams

VP Managing Director, Chicago

Tom has nearly 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry at both Eli Lilly and inVentiv Health, with broad cross-functional experience, including sales, marketing, business development, manufacturing and operations.

Tom joined Syneos Health in December 2008, and most recently the Addison Whitney team, following a successful 17-year career at Eli Lilly where he held positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure. In his last position at Lilly, Tom served as the Sr. Hospital Marketing Director with brand leadership responsibility of two acute care brands, ReoPro and Xigris. In this role, Tom and his marketing team developed and implemented the annual commercial strategy and access plans and led life cycle planning globally.

He has successfully launched and had national sales leadership responsibility for five high-performing sales and nurse educator teams for clients including Eli Lilly, Amylin, Bristol-Myers Squibb, AstraZeneca and Orexigen Therapeutics. Tom has robust launch experience for new products and line extensions, including Evista, Actos, Zyprexa (Zydis formulation and Bipolar indication), Symbyax, Sarafem, Strattera, Bydureon and Xigris (re-launch). His therapeutic area experience includes osteoporosis, diabetes, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PMDD, ADHD, severe sepsis, septic shock, cardiovascular and obesity.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA in marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
