Business Development Associate – Charlotte, NC

The Business Development Associate role is to expand the network of potential business contacts. Qualified candidates should possess a strong motivation to work in sales and the ability to develop a strong, working knowledge of our core capabilities and offerings, and offer support to fulfill the company’s overall objectives. Business Development Associates must also maintain a presence as a positive addition to the organization and supporter of corporate initiatives to benefit company growth.

This position requires:

  • Self-development and education as a business development professional in the branding industry
  • Identifying and building key contacts across multiple clients and industries
  • Mapping account breakdowns with intimate detail of a prospective client’s organization/decision making
  • Identifying potential new business opportunities
  • Providing the SVP with weekly leads on potential new business

Job Purpose:

Generate new business opportunities through targeted outbound sales calls and emails with prospective client contacts

  • Build business contacts and relationships through use of resources such as LinkedIn and Sales Force through calls, emails and mailings
  • Quantifiable metrics:
  • Prospect a minimum of 60 unique contacts per day with a mix of calls and emails
  • Set up two capabilities presentations per week
  • Identify three qualified client RFP’s (Request for Proposal) per month
  • Maintain internal databases with all current prospect and client information, continuously updating and improving our client base

Develop trust-based relationships with prospect contacts

  • Manage prospect communications, interactions and relationships
  • Clear and prompt internal communication of status, potential RFP pipeline, and prospect needs

Work with the marketing department to create and manage outbound email marketing campaigns

  • Work with Addison Whitney’s Marketing team for client follow-up requests and to create and manage outbound marketing campaigns

Skills Required

  • 1 to 3 years of strategic selling skills with a proven track record of success
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimum direction
  • Motivated to work in sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Is detail-oriented with a high standard for quality/correctness of prospect communications

Compensation

  • This position is sales focused and consists of a base salary and incentive commission structure.
