Addison Whitney Created IntelliVue Brand from Philips used in Carolinas Healthcare System's Pineville Hospital

Charlotte, NC (March 1, 2006) -- Carolinas Healthcare System--Pineville utilizes the innovative IntelliVue system from Philips to monitor patients. Philips offers a robust portfolio of medical systems. The goal of each product is clear, faster, and more accurate diagnosis and treatment. The Philips product line includes best-in-class technologies in X-ray, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, PET, radiation oncology systems, patient monitoring, information management, and resuscitation products.

As the medical portfolio continued to expand with innovative products, Philips approached Addison Whitney to develop a global trademark for its new patient monitoring system, which provides patient information right by the care team's side. Addison Whitney created the IntelliVue brand to speak to the goal of the system. The prefix "Intelli-" is derived from the concept of intelligence while the "-vue" suffix relates to viewing or monitoring the patient.
