PPG - Vibrance Collection
The CompanyPPG Industries, Inc. (PPG) is a global supplier of protective and decorative coatings. The company operates in six segments: performance coatings, industrial coatings, architectural coatings, optical and specialty materials, commodity chemicals and glass.
The Task
PPG Industries contracted Addison Whitney to develop a new brand for an innovative auto refinishing custom color system. The new name will be integrated as a family brand that encompasses the actual colors, applicators and the application process. The PPG custom color offer consists of special effect pigments and pre-packaged custom colors that will be branded and labeled as PPG as well as co-branded with several private labels.

Verbal Branding
Addison Whitney created the name Vibrance Collection. Vibrance speaks to the bold and colorful choices available for auto refinishing. The name portrays the purpose of the product and attracts customers through its easily understood meaning. Vibrance also conveys the aspect of personalization through numerous color choices.
Visual Branding
Our creative team also designed the logo that depicts the product offering by utilizing "vibrant" oranges and reds, which suggest fire and heat. The Vibrance Collection visual identity is versatile and was designed to eventually stand alone from the master brand.
